our story

Hello! We’re Jacki and Vanessa, sisters who became mothers in 2021 just a few (unplanned) months apart. In the throes of new parenthood, we found ourselves spending a LOT of time at home, and ideas started to percolate. While we come from different work backgrounds – Jacki works in healthcare and Vanessa in fashion – we share a love of interiors, home textiles, and - above all else - linen. Inspired by our little ones and the immense beauty of the west coast, we leaned into an idea.

We launched The Art of Nesting in the depths of early motherhood and tailwinds of pandemic life, hoping to infuse the homes of others with softness, beauty, and complete acceptance. We believe that home isn't a place, it's a feeling. Home is a space where you can meet yourself exactly where you are, without judgement, expectation or bias.

With simplicity at their foundation, our products are designed to nurture self-care, comfort, ease, and creativity in the home. The Art of Nesting represents creative expression, the pursuit of balance between aesthetic and function, and a nod to motherhood.

We are grateful to work, play, and create on the beautiful unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Ligwiłda'xw people and are committed to continuing responsible stewardship of these lands.
